Swedish finish is a very toxic and flammable finish. Diamondlac Waterborne finish is nontoxic and nonflammable. In the last 15 years of applying both Swedish and the Diamondlac finish, the Diamondlac finish has held up longer than the Swedish finish in almost every case. The Diamondlac finish is the choice of about 85% of our customers right now. There is no price difference between Swedish and Diamondlac.

Swedish finish and Diamondlac waterborne both look very similar, with the exception being over red oak. With Swedish finish the red tones are more noticeable than with the Diamondlac finish. As the Swedish finish age's , the red tones will become slightly more subdued like the Diamondlac finish. The Swedish finish will yellow more as it age's, the Diamondlac finish will not yellow as much. Most people cannot tell the difference between both finishes.
