Do I have to move out of my home during tthis process?

It depends on what type of finish you choose. It also depends on how much of the house we are doing. If you choose Swedish finish, you will have to be out of the house during the last 2 to 3 days of the job. Swedish finish is toxic and will kill house plants and pets. If you choose Diamondlac waterbase finish, you will not have to move out. It is non toxic.

Will the stains in my floor come out when you sand them?

Urine stains ( which are usually black to dark brown in color ) and rust stains from nails, will not come out of a hardwood floor. These can be repaired by patching. Stains from water or other spills most likely will sand out of your floor.

If I choose a stain color, will it cost more money?

No, staining the floor is done at no extra charge unless you ask for something out of the ordinary.

How do I choose a stain color?

Choosing a stain color is done during the sanding process. The floor mechanic will let you know when you need to be present at the job site to choose your color. A stain color can't be chosen in a showroom or from a sample board. Your floor is unique and and must be chosen on your floor to get the exact color you want.

Do I have to be home for the work to be done ?

No, we often work on the job while the owners are either at work or on vacation. We can make arrangements to pick up a key or to have a neighbor let us in. If you are having your floor stained you will have to come by before work or at lunch to choose your color. If you are going on vacation we can pick the color before you leave.

When can I move my furniture and carpets back ?

Once the final coat of finish has been applied, we reccomend waiting two day's berore moving your furniture back in. Area carpets should be left off of the floor for one to two weeks depending on the finish you use.

What kind of guarantee is there on your work?

All of our workmanship is guaranteed for two years.
